Welcome to St Mary's, Telephone House and the Bargate Medical Centre Surgeries
St Mary’s Group of Surgeries comprises 2 well-established, inner city practices with a combined list size of approximately 24,000 patients. The practice provides services under a Personal Medical Services Contract (PMS).
The main practice team is based in a purpose built two-story accommodation in the St Mary’s district of the city, adjacent to the City Centre and Docks. The practice also provides services from two branch surgeries, Telephone House Surgery and the Bargate Medcical Centre.
Telephone House Surgery is in the historic French Quarter of the City and was opened in February 2009.
The Bargate Medical Centre is positioned at the rear of the Boots store on Above Bar Street and can be accessed from the store.
St Mary's Surgery and the Bargate Medical Centre merged on the 1st October 2015. Patients who are usually seen by the doctors at the Bargate Medical Centre will continue to be seen at the Bargate Medical Centre although you may be offered appointments at any of the three sites. Patients requested an urgent same day appointment may be offered a appointment with either a nurse or GP at St Mary's Surgery or be offered a GP telephone consultation.

Access to your medical records
The NHS in England are introducing a new electronic record called the Summary Care Record (SCR), which will be used to support your emergency care. For more information click here. This will take you to a website which gives further information about the Summary Care Record – your emergency care summary.
Named Accountable GP for all patients
From the 1st of April 2015 all practices are required to allocate a named accountable GP to all patients. Our patients have been assigned a named GP and you can find out who this is at your next interaction with the practice. There will be no impact on the service you recieve regarding appointments or which GP you can see. The named GP will not necessarily be the one you see most.
Care Quality Commission
The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of all health and social care services in England.
Their job is to make sure that care provided by hospitals, dentists, ambulances, care homes and services in people’s own homes and elsewhere meets government standards of quality and safety.
They would like to hear from patients about the care they have received.
